Caribeer, our brand new brew started life as the brain child of Tap East Barman and Brewery Assistant Asa James. Inspired by the tradition Caribbean Sorrel drink he wondered whether the deep red Hibiscus flowers could be used to flavour beer. Three months down the line and Jonny Park, our Head Brewer, was putting the finishing touches to a new "Sorrel IPA" recipe.
Named Caribeer in homage to the drink's Caribbean roots, the beer is a 6.2% IPA, brewed with Enigma hops, Ginger and of course flavoured with Sorrel (Hibiscus), giving the pale ale a little bit more of a reddish hue.
The beer will be available for a limited time only, and is being launched at Tap East on Thursday 25th February.
